well....I used sugar.....brown sugar to be exact....and almond coconut milk because it was all I had. In the end, even with the evil sugar, they were great! very moist! I didn't do the topping, so I think next time I will add spices to the batter to give it a bit more zing....but there will definitely be a next time! Thanks for sharing!

Hi! I just love your enthusiasm as well as your posts. However, I was just wondering if you realized that Sucanat and rapadura and brown sugar all all just as harmful as sugar. The body isn't able to metabolize them and there for are converted to fat and are responsible for many of the inflammatory diseases. I don't in any way want to offend you, just wondering if you were aware!
Thank you!

Brenda,

Hey there! I just found your blog on pinterest and cannot tell you how excited I am! I am trying to elimate table sugar, but not elimate sugar altogether. What do you think would be the best alternative? For baking? Something that isn't hard for your body to break down. I am so pumped to share your blog and start baking and cooking some of these recipes! Thanks for sharing!

Sucanat is not brown sugar. Yes brown sugar is table white sugar colored by molasses. Sucanat is less refined than either. You can read more about the sweeteners I use in the post, Top 3 Refined Sugar Free Sweeteners, listed under articles tab.
