I made this recipe with a few changes as I don't use all the ingredients you included. That being said, I subbed full fat cream for the almond milk and found the dough very stiff, so I added more cream and a bit of water. It was still quite stiff, so rather than try and fold in the berries, I made my 8 inch ring and poked holes where I inserted the berries. (I used black berries and raspberries.) Other changes were: using orange zest, mapeline extract, sliced (rather than slivered) almonds, and half pecans, and Lankanto maple syrup for the vanilla stevia. The resulting scones were extremely good and stayed together well. I did use the 1 tsp of xanthan gum you recommended and this probably helped. Compared to another person's scone recipe (which was too watery), yours had the texture and look of a real scone. I think this recipe is a winner and I will definitely try it again.

These are great. I can't seem to keep them from falling apart though. So after I make them I put them in the freezer and take one out and pop it in the microwave for 15 sec. Is there something I could be doing wrong. I did you Truvia brown sugar sweetner instead of Swerve since I had that on hand. I am going to try it with another sweetner I found that is like Swerve. Thanks for sharing this recipe. I also used blueberries too.

I agree...I don't need store-bought gifts, either. Just some good food (like these scones!), a little quiet time and some extra hugs is all I ask for.
