An Instant Pot is an electric pressure cooker that makes cooking meals a lot quicker! I’m giving one away today!

instant pot

I fell in love with pressure cooking a long time ago under the supervision of my wonderful grandmother and mother. They were avid pressure cooker experts and never had any issues with explosions or problems.

In fact,

I’ve got a video showing how to use the older version on youtube.

I’ve got 2 recipes using the older version which could easily be converted to the Instant Pot:

  • Chicken Cacciatore
  • Quick Beef Stew

Using a standard pressure cooker can be scary if you’ve got a gas stove and not quite sure how to keep the heat steady and the pressure cooker evenly cooking.

If you’ve always loved the crock pot, the aspect of plugging in an appliance might be more appealing to you than the older version.

This new version takes the guess work out of it! NO need to worry about how to keep the heat at the right temperature on the stove! The manual is easy to follow and you will be amazed at how quickly you can get a meal on the table!

I’ve also started developing recipes using this new electric Instant Pot:

  • Italian Sausage and Pepper Soup
  • Low Carb Corned Beef and Cabbage

Recently the Instant Pot company sent me a brand new Instant Pot! Since I all ready have one, I decided this would be a wonderful way to introduce someone to this new method of quick cooking! Since I will be mailing this heavy appliance myself, I will need to keep this to the United States only, sorry friends, it’s just too costly for me to ship out of the states!

GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED: Starts 3/28/2016 -Ends April 2, 2016 at 12:01am. Open to US residents only. Winner will be notified via email and has 24 hours to reply or a new winner will be chosen. Winner will be chosen by random.org.

Here’s How to Enter this Giveaway:

MANDATORY QUESTION:

**Have you ever used a pressure cooker before and if not, why not?

I’ve had a pressure cooker for 15 years, but I’m afraid of it. I used it one time and I nearly had a heart attack. I made an eye of round roast in it, but it frightened me so much that I’ve never used it again. I feel like such an idiot. And electric one sounds so much more controlled and totally less frightening.

I don’t have Pinterest or Instagram or Periscope, but I have the facebook page Liked and I’m now following you on twitter. Thanks for such an awesome giveaway!!

I’ve used pressure cookers for years, my grandmother had one explode on her, but we live in our RV now and use propane to cook with. I hate using the stove because it’s small and sucks the propane down quickly. An InstaPot is all the rage for RV’ers and I’d LOVE to have one!

Yes, I have used a pressure cooker, but am always afraid of it “blowing up” because my mom used them years ago and it blew up on her occasionally! What a mess! Those were the days of gaskets that would eventually shrink or dry out or something. There have been so many improvements that there is now much less of a possibility of blowing!

I haven’t used a pressure cooker much because they are a bit dangerous. I have seen one explode on my mom and grandma. I have used one on a couple occasions but very causously. I cooked on low heat and stood right there in case something went wrong (it started “stewing” to fast etc.).

I have seen infomercials about the newer pressure cookers that look really neat. It takes all the guess work out of the process and it kind of a set-and-forget task. I think the food cooked in a pressure cooker is much more tender and healthier. Would like to see one on my counter!

I have used a standard on the stove top pressure cooker and I vividly recall my Mom using the one with the steam release valve that moved and made little noises when she made her stuffed cabbage. I have a new version (my brother got her original one but I doubt he uses it). SOOO would adore the new electric version – have a friend who uses one and adores it and raves about it all the time.

I have never used a pressure cooker before. I saw my mom use one and it blew up so I have been afraid to use one. I know they are electric now and safe, but I could never afford one so I never tried to get one. I would love to have one. It would make cooking for my large, very busy family so much easier.

Yes I do use a pressure cooker. Not electric and would love to have one. Mine is a older on that was given to me by my sister. She was afraid to use it. Well her loss my gain. As a wife/mom/grandma that works outside of the home as well as inside of the home I love my pressure cooker. When i forget to take something out of the freezer it is still not a problem to put together a wonderful hot meal for my family.

I know that who ever wins they will be very happy. Good luck everyone. Thank you for doing this.

I’ve only used a pressure cooker for repairing dentures…Seriously! My brother lived in India for many years and swears by them…cooking a lot of lentils quickly. I am still scared of cooking in a pressure cooker.

I am only entering once since I’m sure you will be inundated with a huge amount of people entering your contest in hopes of being the lucky winner. Although, I’ve never used a pressure cooker before, I am in learning mode right now. This is because 2 months ago my daughter and I started our journey to eating healthy. We got rid of our microwave because it’s just too easy to heat up anything and eat. We now have to plan our meals and this has helped, we’ve lost 12 pounds all together. Yay! I truly believe this pressure cooker will aid us on our journey to, not only weight loss, but to a healthy lifestyle. Thank you for sharing your extra blessing with whomever wins your precious pressure cooker. God bless and good luck to everyone.

I also was amazed to cook spaghetti squash so quickly and then I pre-soaked and then cooked chick peas in the pressure cooker, which made homemade hummus so easy! I have used a pressure cooker without any problems. My mom used hers a lot with just one problem:

My mom had an old one that had a “bell weight” on the top to release the pressure. She had a pot of beans and ham going and the “bell” blew off and shot beans and ham into the air. Mom heard it blow and ran to the kitchen. Beans and ham were raining all over the ceiling and walls. Our collie dog Laddie was hiding under the kitchen table just watching. When it cooled down, Mom released the lid on the pot and found the ham bone without a piece of meat on it. Nothing else in the pot.

I’ve recently become brave enough to make bone broth out of chicken feet in it. But, my behavior in the kitchen while in use is like a bomb is on the stove. I hope to become more comfortable with it. I had an oooooooolddddd pressure cooker with the weight thing on top until my favorite jam recipe went really wrong and the fruit crusted all over the inside. That was about 14 years ago.
My parents recently got the new electric style and they rave about it. I love the idea, so I’m excited about the giveaway!

I’ve never used a pressure cooker. My Mom had one and only made one recipe with it. She kept me away and was afraid of using it herself, that fear combined with only making one recipe just made me have no desire to have one. I’ve been seeing more and more recipes, the new types that seem safer, and even the requirement for some canning recipes, has me intrigued and wanting to get one. Your giveaway has come at a perfect time! I’ve been looking at them and now the cost has been the only thing stopping me from getting one. Thank you for your generosity – not just the giveaway, but your recipes as well!

I do though have very fond memories from my youth though. My mother was a school bus driver, We shared summers together. I remember making bread & butter pickles, cabbage stuffed hot peppers and a ton of other things.
Since our moms passing, I’ve been remembering all the things we did. I even said to my older sister, once my family moves down to Florida to be with her, I told her I would like to get a pressure cooker, not only to prepare meals but I’d like to “re-learn” canning. I’m hoping it’s like riding a bicycle, if not.. There’s always Google. ? I’ve been following you on all social media outlets(except Twitter but am now) for quite some time. My mother used a pressure cooker regularly…I would help but have not used one myself. Don’t own one.

I have used the old style pressure cookers since I was 13 yrs old! As a Cuban we makes lots of beans in Pressure cookers and meat style dishes as well. By the grace of God, I have never had an incident with a pressure cooker and have taught my girls how to use them as well.
Interesting how they made these now with all the safety features.
Thank you for the give-a-way 😉

I’ve never used a pressure cooker. Would love to try it with my busy schedule it’s hard to get a meal together.

Love the FB page. Liked it but don’t use the other social media. Hope that doesn’t hurt my chances to win?

I’ve used a pressure cooker for decades, and still remember my grandmother using one to cook green beans with a slab of bacon. Even though it was summer, hot and muggy, there’s nothing quite as comforting as the sound of that rocker!! I also use a pressure canner. LOVE THEM!!

And yes I have used a traditional pressure cooker – grew up with my Mom using one and now I have had one for over 15 years and use it most often in Winter, but I use it!

I’ve never used a pressure cooker personally but my dad used one quite a lot. I remember, as a child, that it blew up once in the kitchen so I’d never stay in the kitchen when it was on. I’m glad no one got hurt. I’ve had my eye on the instant pot for a long time now. Thank you for this opportunity to win one!

Hi. I used one in culinary school, but could not personally afford one. I would love to have one since I cook for my disabled mother and this would come in very handy.
