<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Carbs in Traditional Jam</h2>



<p>​According to the app I use, <a href="https://shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=766203&amp;u=3884317&amp;m=61121&amp;urllink=&amp;afftrack=">Cronometer,</a> 1 tablespoon of store bought strawberry jam has 6 grams of carbs, which is quite a lot since who just eats 1 tablespoon right? </p>



<p>So 2 tablespoons is 12 grams of total carbs and that is too much for anyone on a ketogenic diet since most only have 20 carbs or less a day.&nbsp;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Sugar Free Store-Bought Jams</h2>



<p>​The carbs and sugar might be lower in store bought sugar free jam that you can find in most grocery stores, but that doesn&#8217;t mean the ingredients are good for anyone watching what you put in your body. </p>



<p>I don&#8217;t want artificial sweeteners or a ton of preservatives in my food.&nbsp;</p>



<p>​According to <a href="https://shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=766203&amp;u=3884317&amp;m=61121&amp;urllink=&amp;afftrack=">Cronometer,</a> Smucker&#8217;s seedless strawberry jam with Splenda has almost as many carbs as the regular kind with sugar, it has 5 grams of carbs so you&#8217;re not saving much in that area. </p>



<p>Not to mention the negative effects of <a href="https://www.sugarfreemom.com/recipes/natural-sugar-free-low-carb-sweeteners-guide-conversion-chart/">ingesting Splenda </a>which is known in may studies to spike blood sugar.&nbsp;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">​Carbs in our Sugar-Free Jam Recipe</h2>



<p>​Our easy peasy healthy recipe for sugar free strawberry jam has just 2 grams of carbs for 2 tablespoons which is fantastic! It has a lovely jelly-like consistency because of the wonderful chia seeds. </p>



<p>This is the easiest jam to make with just a few simple ingredients and suitable for a keto &amp; diabetic lifestyle.&nbsp;</p>

<p>With the spring season officially here now and the weather warming up for us in New England, beautiful fresh strawberries are in season and require little effort to make your own jam at home to enjoy.</p>



<p>I couldn&#8217;t think of a better way to begin this season than bringing you a keto jam recipe that is perfect for either picking your own strawberries or buying them locally from a farm near you while in season. &nbsp;</p>

<p>You can make this when it isn&#8217;t berry season and use frozen berries instead of fresh real strawberries, thaw the frozen berries first then drain them well before continuing with this great recipe.</p>



<p>Spending less time in the kitchen and more time outside soaking in the fresh air and sunshine, and relaxing is what I crave!</p>



<p>This refrigerator jam is the way to bring fresh berry season in your home without the process of canning which can be a lot of time spent in the kitchen instead of outdoors.</p>

<p>Yes feel free to use other berries like blackberries, blueberries, raspberries or even cranberries to make a delicious chia jam recipe.</p>

<p>If you don&#8217;t have liquid stevia you can use powdered stevia. </p>

This easy dessert pleases them all and everyone will be asking you for the recipe!</p>

<h1>CAN I SWAP KETO SWEETENERS USED?</h1>
<p>This is perfect for a holiday with family and friends.&nbsp; Make ahead and just keep it in the fridge until you&#8217;re ready to serve. It&#8217;s creamy and naturally sweet with the strawberries. Adding just a small amount of <a href="https://amzn.to/33qq3Yj" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">berry flavored stevia</a> helps bring it all together. Of course feel free to use whatever sweetener you prefer, just use a small amount then taste and adjust as needed.</p>
<p>One of our newer favorite low carb sweeteners that doesn&#8217;t leave an aftertaste, is <a href="https://amzn.to/2MnWWPW" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Better than Sugar</a> by Sweetleaf. They have a confectioners powdered sweetener which would be best for this recipe and they also have a granulated option. It&#8217;s a combination of erythritol and stevia and has plenty of sweetness as sugar would provide.</p>
<p>&nbsp;<a href="https://amzn.to/2Y9ogUW" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Swerve confectioners </a>sweetener is also low carb, but doesn&#8217;t have as much sweetness and you may need to use a bit more to get this as sweet as you like.&nbsp; Allulose would be another option, but again it isn&#8217;t as sweet as using the Better than Sugar sweetener. <a href="https://amzn.to/2YcqFhB" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Allulose </a>comes in a liquid, and granulated form.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Honestly you could just eat this with a spoon but of course, that could lead to overindulging!&nbsp; Here are some options for serving this dip with family and friends. If you are just not in the mood to turn that oven on, try one of these prepackaged cookies for dipping below!</p>
<p><a href="https://amzn.to/2SA1ohU" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Highkey cookies</a> which come in a variety of different flavors, all keto and gluten free! <a href="https://amzn.to/3xVR5Vx" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Kiss my Keto cookies</a> also has a variety of different flavors, but the one I think that would be best for this dip is the vanilla butter! <a href="https://amzn.to/2SCfMGr" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Fat Snax cookies</a> are another great brand of keto cookies and the lemony lemon cookie would be awesome with this dip!</p>
<p>Unfortunately all these keto cookie brands mentioned are made with almond flour so if you have someone with a nut allergy in the family, then don&#8217;t buy them, just make my nut free cookies instead. <p>It almost looks like I made my <a title="Naturally Sweetened Strawberry Lemonade" href="https://www.sugarfreemom.com/recipes/naturally-sweetened-strawberry-lemonade/" target="_blank">Naturally Sweetened Strawberry Lemonade</a> since the Popsicle looks pink. You certainly could use that recipe as well, but the strawberries are pureed so you won&#8217;t see any slices of strawberries. If your family doesn&#8217;t like frozen fruit than making the strawberry lemonade and pouring that into molds will be perfect for them!</p>
<p>The regular no sugar lemonade recipe is what I used, but once added to the freshly sliced strawberries the juice turns pink!</p>

<p>Who wants a refreshing, low calorie drink that isn&#8217;t water or full of sugar-free artificial junk??&nbsp; You should all be saying&#8230;.. me me me!!</p>



<p>Water can get pretty monotonous at times, so when I made <a title="Naturally Sweetened Lemonade" href="https://www.sugarfreemom.com/recipes/naturally-sweetened-lemonade/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Naturally Sweetened Lemonade</a> last week which has practically no calories&nbsp; I knew I wanted to make it again and again.</p>



<p>BUT this time we had some fresh strawberries in the fridge! Of course I figured the kids would love this but how much would it increase the calories was what I was worried about. I am happy to say not much at all!</p>



<p>This is a perfect option for a kids party as they will call it pink lemonade of course.</p>



<p><strong>Here&#8217;s how you can make it:</strong></p>



<p>Just follow my directions for the <a title="Naturally Sweetened Lemonade" href="https://www.sugarfreemom.com/recipes/naturally-sweetened-lemonade/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Naturally Sweetened Lemonade</a>&nbsp; then simply add 2 cups of fresh strawberries to your blender or food processor. Process until completely smooth. You can add it to the lemon and water or strain it if you don&#8217;t like pulp. We don&#8217;t mind it and had it as is.</p>



<p><strong>One Note:</strong> I DID have to increase the stevia to 1- 1/2 teaspoon to get the taste to my kids liking. Start with one teaspoon, taste and adjust.</p>



<p>Easy, refreshing, very few calories and only 1 point! A great choice for anyone watching their weight!</p>



<p>You could also sub the liquid lemon stevia for Watermelon stevia in this recipe!</p>
