This Low Carb Cucumber Green Tea Detox Smoothie is a refreshing way to begin a day! It's sugar-free, dairy free, gluten free, paleo and fabulous!
KETO DETOX SMOOTHIE
I don't know about you, but certain days require different kinds of breakfast choices.
Mondays are never easy after a fun weekend. Truth be told, I sometimes indulge in a little too many snacks or just tend to eat more than usual compared to a weekday. I always need something light and refreshing to kick boot my body back into the swing of things.
Even if you're not much of a tea person as I am not, the point of the green tea here is to provide a little caffeine kick to your smoothie combining it into breakfast as well. I don't feel the green tea has a strong flavor at all and the creamy avocado and refreshing cucumber are the stars in this drink.
Being that yesterday was Father's Day and I of course am feeling the Monday blues and my body is sluggish and certainly not ready to start the week ahead, I make this.
And all is well in the world.
I feel better and my body thanks me.
Obviously this green tea smoothie can be enjoyed anytime, but on Mondays it is all the more appreciated!

Great recipe. Thank you for sharing Brenda. I've included it our Banting (the South African version of low carb & keto) recipe roundup.
Trying to stay away from the super sweet fruit smoothies that I've become accustomed to (especially bananas, which I find way too sweet these days), but am not a fan of cucumber, except in cucumber, broccoli, & onion salad for some reason LOL. However, this looked good enough to try. I didn't have Stevia on hand, so used Splenda (1 tbsp). It was good, but had to double the water to cut down on the cucumber taste. The cucumber I had was a little on the bitter side which didn't help. I added another tsp. of lemon, and another tsp. of Splenda. Once I did that, it was pretty good. Very refreshing & will definitely make again with my modifications. Hopefully my next cucumber won't be so bitter tasting. Might try adding some mint next time. Thanks for sharing!!
This tasted like grass to me. Any recommendations of something I can add to it to help?
More sweetener is what you might have needed.
It was gross and a waste of my groceries!!!!
Can you use regular brewed green tea instead?
I've not tried that but let me know if you do.
I do not have a sweet tooth. I will try it without the Stevia. I am looking for recipes without sweet additions! 🙂
Brenda, this sounds heavenly, but where do the 6.8 grams of carbohydrates come from?
It's terrible!! And I can deal with the taste of "lawn/yard" in my mouth but this is terrible! Seriously upset I wasted my time!!
