EASY HOMEMADE KETO FUDGE
Making an easy sugar free fudge at home really isn't as hard as you would think. You need just 5 basic ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry if you are following a low-carb or keto diet.
It's a simple recipe that makes a perfect sugar free fudge that even the non low carb family and friends in your life will love!
You can make it with or without added nuts, totally optional!
CAN THIS BE MADE DAIRY FREE?
Yes you can make this easy sugar free fudge dairy free by swapping just two ingredients.
Swap the unsalted butter used on the recipe for the same amount of coconut oil.
Swap the small amount of heavy cream used for coconut milk or unsweetened almond milk.
HOW TO MAKE EASY SUGAR FREE FUDGE
You need just 5 main ingredients to make this delicious sugar free fudge.
Pure Vanilla extract
Optional: vanilla liquid stevia and chopped walnuts
Add the chocolate chips and butter to a double boiler or you can use a bowl over a small pot of boiling water and cook over low heat until melted.
Stir in confectioners, cream, vanilla extract and salt until smooth. Remove from heat.
Taste and decide if you need more sweetness. Stir in optional walnuts if using.
Spread batter into a parchment lined loaf pan.
Refrigerate 30 minutes. This fudge does not need to stay refrigerated. In fact, it's softer if you leave it out on the counter in an airtight container.
SUGAR FREE DARK CHOCOLATE VS MILK CHOCOLATE CHIPS
Lily's sugar free chocolate chips is my favorite brand for sugar free chocolate. It tastes great and melts just like traditional chocolate chips with sugar.
The sweetener used is stevia and erythritol so there really isn't an aftertaste. Other sugar free chocolate chips using artificial sweeteners can really cause a lot of digestive issues in the gut.
I've made this sugar free fudge using both Lily's milk chocolate chips and dark chocolate chips and there is definitely a difference in texture.
The milk chocolate chips will provide a softer, smooth texture while the dark chocolate chips will provide a deep rich chocolate flavor but will not be as soft in texture, more dense.
Either will work in this recipe it is really your preference.
